Town Pastors are Christian volunteers from local churches who are out in the town centre of Bury St Edmunds most Friday and Saturday nights being a positive influence on the streets and providing help and support to vulnerable people.

In addition there is the prayer team: some pray at the base in town and others pray at home.

If you are interested in joining us go to the How To Apply page.

Town Pastor training happens at various  times throughout the year and you can download application forms from this site. Come back here to see the interview and training dates or be in touch with us so we can let you know.

We welcome applications for the prayer team at any time.

What do Town Pastors do on an evening out? Incidents range from giving dehydrated people some water to drink, helping people to get a taxi or a lift, waiting with vulnerable people, calming and diffusing aggressive situations and various conversations with people.
